Tropical Storm Cristobal makes landfall in Louisiana impacts much of Gulf.

CRISTOBAL MAKES LANDFALL: The center of Tropical Storm Cristobal has made landfall in southeast Louisiana just east of Grand Isle Louisiana. Hazardous weather conditions will continue to spread inland across portions of the northern Gulf Coast through tonight and into Monday. Tropical Storm Cristobal is the second earliest Louisiana named storm landfall on record (since 1851). Earliest is Tropical Storm Arlene on May 30, 1959. Cristobal will remain a threat long after landfall especially in terms of flooding and a tornado threat. The flood threat will extend well inland in parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, parts of Florida, and eventually Arkansas and Missouri early this week. Tornadoes will be possible over the next 24 to 36 hours especially in Mississippi, Louisiana, Southwest and Coastal Alabama, Florida and eventually into Arkansas. At the time I write this blog over 5,000 are without power in Louisiana and 4 to 8" of rainfall has fallen in some spots and storm surge is continuing across Louisiana, Coastal Mississippi, parts of Florida, and Coastal and Southwest Alabama. Coastal Mississippi is getting some of the worst flooding and storm surge.
