It has been a very quiet Hurricane season thus far in 2022 due to dry air/dust from Africa and wind shear. The conditions across much of the Atlantic especially the Main Development region have been unfavorable. There is still a lot of dry air out in the Atlantic. The North Atlantic is more favorable for development and Hurricane Danielle has formed. Danielle is the first Hurricane in the Atlantic basin in over 300 days and the 4th storm of the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Water temperatures are very warm in the North Atlantic and there is not much wind shear which can tear tropical systems apart. Tropical Storm Earl formed Friday night 9/2 becoming the 5th storm of the 2022 Hurricane Season. Earl will impact parts of the Caribbean before moving north and curving. Thankfully Earl will not impact the main part of the United States.
