The northeastern US has rare May snowfall. Central Park tied the record latest date for Snow.

Snow is falling across parts of Pennsylvania, New York, Maine, Ohio, and other parts of the northeastern US on May 9th. Instead of May it feels more like February or March across the northeastern us. Central Park in New York even had a little snow In May! The Central Park Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) recorded snow. This ties the record latest snow set on this day in 1977. All 6 of the climate sites that sends in weather information for the National Weather Service in New York City (EWR, NYC, BDR, LGA, JFK, ISP) reported a Trace of snow early this morning. Officially, the month of May has the exact same amount of snow as the month of February for 5 of these sites. Islip, New York has officially had a snowier May than February.
