Significant Severe Weather event possible Wednesday and Thursday.

A significant severe weather event is possible Wednesday and Thursday over several different states especially parts of Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Western and southwest and middle Tennessee and Georgia. Damaging winds, hail, tornadoes and flooding are all possible. Much of Alabama, Mississippi, Western and southwest Tennessee and Eastern Arkansas has a rare level 4 MODERATE risk of Severe Weather. Some strong higher end tornadoes (EF-2-EF4+) can't be ruled out especially in Alabama, Mississippi, Northwest Florida, Eastern Arkansas and western Tennessee. Some of the severe weather and tornadoes could occur overnight Wednesday and early the first half of the day Thursday especially in Georgia, Alabama, parts of Tennessee and Northwest Florida. Much of Metro Atlanta, West Georgia and Northwest Georgia has a level 2 slight risk of severe weather Wednesday far western and northwest Georgia including Carroll, Haralson, Polk, Floyd, Chattooga, Heard, Coweta, Troup and Meriwether counties has a level 3 Enhanced risk of severe weather. The day 4 severe weather outlook for Thursday covers much of Metro Atlanta, Central, eastern and south Georgia. By Thursday afternoon the severe weather risk will come to an end for metro Atlanta and West Georgia and Alabama but continue for areas southeast of Atlanta and down into Central and South Georgia and eastern Georgia. Now is the time to review your severe weather safety plan ahead of the potential for severe weather. Regardless of your risk area the take away message is be prepared. Don't focus as much on the colors and risks as much as the overall message is that severe weather is likely in many areas. Preparedness is key.




















Areas from Florida through much of South, Central and eastern Georgia as well as much of the Carolinas, Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio and Illinois could have severe weather on Thursday especially Thursday afternoon. Parts of Georgia and the Carolinas could have significant severe weather Thursday including several tornadoes and damaging wind gusts. Some higher end tornadoes are possible in the enhanced risk over parts of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
