SEVERE WEATHER STATS (BY THE NUMBERS) SO FAR IN 2020 AND A LOOK BACK AT ACTIVE JANUARY'S.

SEVERE WEATHER BY THE NUMBERS: If there are no more tornadoes for the rest of January, the confirmed total so far in January (78) would rank as the 4th most active on record. Active Years: January 1999 212, January 2017 137, January 2008 84, January 2020 78, January 2013 75 and the record before 1999 was 52 tornadoes in January 1975! The January 10th-11th Tornado was the third largest January outbreak on record since 1950 and the largest outbreak ever so early in the year. January 21st-22nd 199 there were 129 tornadoes, January 21st and 22nd 2027 there were 80 tornadoes and this year January 10th and 11th 73 tornadoes. Total for the 10th and 11th this year there were 20 EF-0 Tornadoes, 43 EF-1 Tornadoes and 13 EF-2 tornadoes. There have been 5 tornadoes in Georgia in 2020 so far, 5 in Alabama, 11 in Arkansas, 12 in Mississippi, 5 in Missouri, 4 in Tennessee, 10 in Texas, 2 in Ohio, 6 in South Carolina and 5 in Kentucky.
