Record-Breaking 12 landfalling storms have hit the US in 2020

The United States has been hit with 12 landfalling storms this year which breaks the old record of 9 set in both 1916 and 2016. 9 of the 12 landfalls have been along the Gulf Coast. Tropical systems have cost over $30 billion in damages in 2020.
