Historic Flooding in Missouri especially St. Louis.

Parts of Missouri and far western Illinois has had between 8 and 12" of rainfall today (7/26/22) and some areas have had over 12" especially northwest of St. Louis. St. Louis had 9.04" which set a new rainfall record. The old record was 7.02" in August 1915 with the remnants of the Galveston Hurricane. 7.68" fell in just 6 hours. A warming atmosphere holds more water. Recent studies have showed an increase in more extreme rainfall events especially in the Midwest and northeastern US.
