August is a good month for looking up at the night sky! The last Supermoon of the year is August 12th. The biggest Meteor Shower of the year is this month which peaks the middle of the month (The Perseids Meteor Shower) they are caused by Earth passing through debris left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle which last passed close to earth back in 1992. The Meteor shower peaks when Earth passes through the densest and dustiest area during the middle of August. Saturn will be visible August 14th. August 19th the moon and Mars will be close to each other.
