Often times a Potential Tropical Cyclone Advisory is issued before a Tropical Depression or Tropical Storm Forms the advisories allow the National Weather Service to issue watches and warnings ahead of time and give a good lead time before a potential storm. The advisories contains all National Hurricane Center Advisory information.
