BEYOND THE FORECAST: WHAT IS THE HOTTEST AND COLDEST TEMPERATURES EVER RECORDED IN GEORGIA?

The highest temperature ever recorded in Georgia is 112 °F (44 °C) while the lowest ever recorded is −17 °F (−27 °C) Heat Waves with temperatures over 100 °F (38 °C) have often been recorded.  The -17 was recorded close to Chatsworth in Northwest Georgia. Atlanta had 90 degree days of 90 degree temperatures or hotter in 2011 and several days in 2011 and 2012 at or above 100 degrees! The Winters of 2009, 2011, and 2014 was especially Cold and Snowy in Georgia. There were multiple Snow and Ice storms in 2014 and several mornings with temperatures in the Single Digits. The Winter of 2017 was also Cold and Snowy. Parts of West Georgia had over a Foot of Snow in December 2017 with several mornings in the teens and the Mountains were in the single digits.
