The Dew point is the temperature to which air must be cooled to become saturated with water vapor. When cooled further, the airborne water vapor will condense to form liquid water. When air cools to its dew point through contact with a surface that is colder than the air, water will condense on the surface. If the Dew point is high that means there is a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. Dew points below 60 are pretty refreshing anything below 55 is perfectly dry air. Dew points between 60 and 65 are a bit humid and sticky. Dew points above 65 is quite humid but anything between 70 to 75 or above is miserable. Often during the late spring and summer dew points are between 65 and 75. After a good Fall cold front dew points are typically in the 50's. When dew points are too low in the 20's and 30's there can be a high fire danger which is why the western US has an enhanced fire danger often the dew points are too low and that combined with strong winds leads to a high fire danger.
